Our garden is mainly made up of different species of cacti, chosen from the different garden centers in Fuerteventura. The selection criteria has been based on the strange beauty and uniqueness of the individual within each species. Thus, we can enjoy an Alluaudia ascendens or an Euphorbia albina, both mature, or a Consolea rubescens with a beautiful trunk. We also have another Euphorbia, in this case spiralis, and a beautiful sized Echinocactus grusonii, without forgetting the typical cardón (Pachycereus pringlei) that reaches almost two meters in height. We have put all the care in the elaboration of this garden, paying the maximum attention to each individual and trying to generate an atmosphere of harmony between the environment, the house and the guest.

This species, native to Mexico, is considered rare in its habitat and, unfortunately, it is listed in danger of extinction. It is commonly known as "mother-in-law's seat", its growth is quite slow and it has a long longevity, it can live more than 100 years.

Rising towards the sky with a height of more than three meters, this Alluaudia has a thorny trunk which shows precious and tiny heart-shaped leaves. Very few of these plants can be seen in Fuerteventura

Euphorbia spiralis

This Euphorbia is one of the most unique specimens in the garden, it has a thick trunk that grows in a spiral in the same direction as the coriolis force and from which thick branches also emerge, evidencing this kind of centrifugal movement.

Originally from South Africa, it can reach a height of more than one meter. Its leaves are green or gray with a peculiar and characteristic red margin and have a kind of white powder that reflects sunlight, helping the plant not to dehydrate.

FLOR CACTUS-2.jpg

Cleistocactus

The garden has two of these wonderful specimens from which, from time to time, beautiful one-day flowers sprout.
